FAMILY SUPPORT / COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORKER
Maine Valley Family Resource Centre (MVFRC) continually strives to
meet the changing needs of families and communities in the mid Kerry
area.
We are currently going through a process of organisational change
whilst at the same time creating a new vision to strengthen and
empower children, families and communities who live in our catchment
area (Annascaul, Inch, Keel, Castlemaine, Milltown, Firies,
Farranfore)
We are recruiting a FAMILY SUPPORT / COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORKER to
support families on a group or one to one basis, to improve their
physical and mental wellbeing in line with the National Policy
Framework for Children and Young People.
This is a part-time position (**Apply on the website**.5hrs/wk) based
in MVFRC, Castlemaine.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Keep up to date on local family and community needs and deliver a
range of family and community responses
* Engage with target families and communities and support their
involvement in the Centre
* Ensure that the work of the Centre is in keeping with the aims and
objectives of the Family Resource Centre Programme
* Raise the profile of the Centre and all related activities
* Work with relevant statutory and voluntary agencies with a view to
linking families to relevant supports and work collaboratively as
required
* Work with the Project Co-ordinator to identify funding sources,
make applications and liaise with funding agencies as required
* Participate in planning, review and evaluation of the work of the
Centre
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
* A Third Level Qualification (Level 6) in Family Support, Community
Development or Community Education or other related discipline where
the candidate can demonstrate relevancy to this post.
* A minimum of 2 years experience of working with families and
groups in a community based setting
* Have the requisite knowledge, suitability and skills to carry out
responsibilities of the post.
